The East Cleveland Neighborhood Center (ECNC) is a 501(c)(3) education enrichment center that promotes emotional wellness and decreases non-academic barriers through self-efficacy, compassion and evidence-based strategies. This summer ECNC will provide a six-week program that enhances kids' love for reading involving its Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools (CDF) program.
According to ECNC website, CDF is a culturally enriching program that strengthens academic, civic, and social skills in a creatively fun way. The program will run from June 20th through July 28th, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. Field Trips include the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Pioneer Water Park, the Ohio State House, and COSI. The programming includes Integrated Reading Curriculum which improves literacy by fostering a love for reading, S.T.E.A.M.-based afternoon activities that aim to help scholars improve in MATH and SCIENCE, and parent engagement opportunities/events. Best of all, it is TOTALLY FREE!
